Packing for a work trip usually causes a tiny bit of anxiety, at least for me anyway. Traveling for work can stressful enough (depending on the trip) , adding the pressure of trying to look cute too is simply exhausting. This style guide is meant to be used as a tool to help ease the hassle of packing.
My inspiration for this guide was based off of my experience working events. My selections work very well for semi-casual settings and tend to focus on the necessities for show and event production.
For a 5 day trip , I recommend the following:
2 pairs of pants (Try to choose pants that can be dressed both up or down.)
6 blouses (Can be worn with both pants - this gives you more outfit options!)
3 shoes (One should be comfortable , one that can be dressed up or down, and a pair of heels of course)
1 Jacket (Denim , leather , or a bomber is always a good choice)
1 Dress (Should be able to be worn to a meeting or dinner)
1 Purse (Solid color)
1 Watch (Solid Color)
1 Belt (Black or Brown is your best bet)
2 Necklaces / bracelets ( Should be versatile)
Tips for my peeps in event and show production:
- A belt bag is a must for carrying pens, sharpies , scissors, box cutters , post-its , and your phones.
- Get a watch , especially a smart / fitness watch, to count down the hours until you get reasonable sleep.
-You need a backpack that your laptop can fit in since you'll be carrying it everywhere with you...kind of like a new born child.
