When I’m working in the office, I like to drown out the click-clacking of people banging on their keyboards with some upbeat tracks. My playlist is constantly changing but here are a list of my top 20 favorite tunes to crank out reports and work tickets to.

*In no particular order

  1. People [Conducta Remix] – Cadenza (Feat, Jorja Smith & Dre Island)

  2. American Boy – Estelle (Feat. Kanye West)

  3. Dang! – Mac Miller (Feat. Anderson .Paak)

  4. Redbone – Childish Gambino

  5. I’m sure [King Yoof Remix]– Chopstick Dubplate (Feat Chesire Cat)

  6. Passionfruit – Drake

  7. Electric – Alina Baraz (Feat Khalid)

  8. Hotline Bling[BBC Live Session] – Disclosure (Feat. Sam Smith)

  9. Bad Blood - NAO

  10. Wanta Be – Without

  11. In the Cut – Aaron London

  12. Meditation – GoldLink (Feat Jazmine Sullivan & KAYTRANADA)

  13. Cold Outside – Ari Lennox

  14. Close to you – Dreezy (Feat T-Pain)

  15. 1 Night – Mura Masa (Feat. Charli XCX)

  16. Don’t Belong – Zak Abel

  17. Nights – Frank Ocean

  18. All Night – Chance the Rapper (Feat. Knox Fortune)

  19. Lose My Cool – Amber Mark

  20. Show Me Love – Clean Bandit (Feat. Elisabeth Troy)

I like to stream all my music from Apple Music. For the student price of $5 a month (Yes, I still try to finesse student prices) it’s super affordable and grants me more accessibility to recently released tracks opposed to Spotify. Though, it’s worth mentioning that I enjoy Spotify’s playlists a little better.

My taste is what I like to call “Spike Indie”. The best way I can describe that is R&B/Soul infused or “spiked” with electric and hip hop with influences from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Though all the songs I listed don’t necessarily follow that categorization, I like to veer out of the norm and indulge in new sounds from all genres. That’s what music is all about.
