M I A M I

For the past 2 years, my friends and I have traveled down to south to soak up the sights and sounds of Miami Beach. Miami is easily one of my favorite cities in Florida. The abundance of colors, culture, and cuisine are simply sensational. So, it was no surprise that this year we would pack our bags and spend our spring break in the 3-0-5.

First rule of a road trip, find a good driving buddy. There is nothing worse then getting stuck with a terrible driver for 4 hours. Or worse....a driver with bad taste in music. Try making a road trip playlist to avoid skipping through 12 songs. This will also help set the tone and energy for the trip.

Is it just me or do my shorts scream M I A M I ?! (They're a Thrift Store find!)

Day 1

After checking into our hotel, we hit up one of our favorite eats.

Enriquette's Sandwich Shop , located on the outskirts of the Wynwood area is a local hotspot. No mater what you get , its bound to be both affordable and tasty.

At night we decided to stick to another tradition of ours...hitting up the strip club. Miami is known for having some of the best strip clubs in the country. E11EVEN Miami is definitely one of the hottest in town. They offer free entry for ladies before 11:30pm while the guys payed $10. The venue also offers rooftop parties every Friday night that you can RSVP for free to on their website.

Day 2

In addition to the Jet Boat, they have Banana Boat rides. This was probably my favorite of the two. Skim across the water on an inflated banana raft. Be prepared to get wet! (Check Groupon for great deals)

Of course it wouldn't have been a trip to Miami without visiting the world famous South Beach. Food around this area can get expensive, so its always a great idea to stop at Publix first and pick up some snacks and have a picnic on the beach. Watch out for those seagulls though, they can get bold!

After a much needed nap, we hit the Wynwood streets to party and have a good time. Wynwood is littered with unique and hip bars, restaurants, and clubs. Its a much cheaper alternative to the south beach strip at night. Many of the clubs are free entry and offer great drink prices. From the corner performers to the various open patios , the streets are filled with hot beats and that Miami energy. And the best part is that the clubs don't close until 3am.

Day 3

2 words.

Calle Ocho.

Calle Ocho, which translates to eighth street, is annual festival held in Little Havana on...you guessed it, eighth street. The streets are jam packed with music, vendors, and people celebrating their hispanic culture.

The smell of well seasoned meats permeates the air. My favorite part of the festival is the wide variety of food. From arepas and tostones to paella and shish kabobs, theyv'e got it all.

A word to the wise, wear sun block, shorts and short sleeves or you may not make it through the unforgiving heat. Grabbing a free slurpee at the 711 truck always helps though! Its also in your best interest to wear sneakers, all that walking can really wear out your feet!
